Access to work
Turning Heads works closely with the DWP and local job centre staff to provide work experience placements and also permitted work through the Access to Work Scheme. We also work with South Devon College providing supported internship placements.
Access to Work can help you get or stay in work if you have a physical or mental health condition or disability.
The support you get will depend on your needs. Through Access to Work, you can apply for:
- a grant to help pay for practical support with your work
- support with managing your mental health at work
- money to pay for communication support at job interviews
We can offer 8 week placements at all 3 of our sites and this is dependent on your previous skills and also interests in future employment. We do take on some individuals after this 8-week placement and offer them employment through the permitted work scheme. These are paid positions that vary from 3 months to 3 years and would involve you working alongside one of our work coaches.
